For more than twenty years, Steven Koldjeski has been working in the sign and graphics industry for many industry leaders. Now, a sign and graphics business owner, he has developed an estimating software that has helped propel his Plano, Texas based businesses into a seamless platform for the sign and graphics industry.

Estimating jobs started out with a yellow pad and calculator and then moved to spreadsheets that evolved with every customer request for an estimate. After several years of creating estimates from scratch, Steven started building a spreadsheet application that would generate accurate estimates – covering all the aspects of project materials, production, delivery and billing.

Over the last five years, that spreadsheet application has been enhanced with features that made it faster to create a final estimate. Along the way, Steven added a summary view to indicate cost, profit level and job duration to ensure a job could be delivered within the price and timeframe needed by the customer while still being profitable.

In 2012, Steven partnered with Robin Yeldell, his IT consultant based in Dallas, to turn the game-changing spreadsheet application into an application that could be used by other sign makers. They formed CreateABid, LLC, and began working on the CreateABid.com web application for creating estimates, invoices and production work orders for sign and graphic companies.

Today CreateABid.com is hard at work churning out estimates for sign shops across the country. CreateABid.com will eventually branch out to other industries to streamline the estimating and invoicing process with similar web application features as deployed for sign and graphic shops.
